I've got a little one screaming at me in the next room, so I've got to get this one out fast.
Wanted to write you guys a quick line or two about living life on purpose.
Sometimes it is really hard to move forward.
Sometimes that means letting go of the things you had in your past that kept you there.
Sometimes that is a mindset.
Our mindset is one of the few things that we ourselves can control.
You have an unexpected event come up in your life?
Mindset.
As my PawPaw says, you've got to think about what you're thinking about.
You got that? Think about "it", and then think about "it" again to make sure that it is bettering you.
Is it going to better you?
If yes- do it.
If no- wait for the next opportunity.
You can come upon these changes with the mindset of "Oh woe is me, my whole life is about to change".
OR you can come upon the changes on your life and take them as opportunities to better yourself and the ones around you.
The word change is funny because it is neither negative or positive.
We just often times choose that change is a negative thing, because it may not have been what we had drawn out for ourselves in the "master plan" for our lives.
Who has actually followed the grand master plan that they've set out for their own lives?
BOR-ING.
Anthony and I heard a quote from Theodore Roosevelt the other day that we just fell in love with:
“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
Cha feel? Ole boy is basically saying, props the the folks that get out there and go for it. Do the things. Take on life. Have your own experiences. Get yourself dirty in order to figure out life and what you want out of it. NO BYSTANDERS! If you fail, at least you are trying something new instead of never having tried at all. The only way you can learn about life, or anything for that matter, is to DO. If you are working on a math problem and you just stare at it... nothing happens. Correct? You gotta get in there and work. that. shit. out. YOURSELF to find the answer.
Life=same.
God didn't give you a spirit of timidity.
If you want to experience life, you've got to do just that. EXPERIENCE it. For yourself.
